Shaffer Buck Insurance was founded in 1906 as the Walker Insurance and Real Estate Agency. Charlie Shaffer joined the business as a partner in 1922 and the agency became the Walker-Shaffer Insurance Agency. In 1955 Charlie's Son-in-Law Gordon Buck joined the agency, the agency was renamed Shaffer Buck Insurance. Gordon eventually purchased the business from Charlie. In 1980 Gordon's Son, Dan Buck joined the agency. Gordon retired in 1998 and Dan became the President and Owner of Shaffer Buck Insurance. In November of 2009 Dan's Son Aaron Buck joined the agency as the fourth generation to work at Shaffer Buck Insurance. 
Shaffer Buck Insurance has been a part of the Caldwell community and has been serving the people of the Treasure Valley for over a century.

Current President - Dan Buck
Dan is an Idaho native and the third generation of his family to be at the helm of Shaffer-Buck Insurance. He began his career in 1980 and acquired the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor in 1990. He is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Idaho and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, currently serving as the National Committeeman for the local association. Through the years, Dan has enjoyed serving his many clients, developing friendships, handling claim situations and designing customized insurance plans to meet their changing needs.
Active in the community, he is a past president of the Caldwell Kiwanis Club, chairman of the board of The Lifeline Pregnancy Care Center and active in his church.
Dan and his wife, Tammy, have enjoyed raising their four children and have recently been blessed with their first grandchild. They enjoy gardening, motorcycling and home improvement projects.

Personal and Commercial Lines Agent - Aaron Buck
Aaron is the fourth generation to work at Shaffer Buck Insurance. He has worked part time for Shaffer Buck since the age of 16. After graduating from the College of Idaho in 2007 with a Bachelors in Business/International Political Economy and a Bachelors in General Music, Aaron went to work for Ada County as a supervisor in the County Clerk's office. In November of 2009 Aaron came on full time as a licensed personal lines agent at Shaffer Buck Insurance.
Aaron's goals at Shaffer Buck include providing fast, precise customer service to our many clients as well as creating a better sense of connectedness and community with our clients. Aaron has created a new website, facebook page, and has begun a monthly email newsletter and quarterly mail newsletter to connect with our clients and provide further value for their insurance dollar.
Aaron was married to his wife Rachel in August of 2009 and has settled in Nampa. He enjoys cycling, running and swimming, he has participated in several triathlon races throughout the valley and is working toward an Ironman distance race. Aaron looks forward to being a part of the Caldwell/Nampa community and to taking good care of his clients.
