Dan began his insurance career in 1980 and is the third generation of his family to be at the helm of Shaffer-Buck. He received his CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation in 1990. He has continued to build his business on personal attention to the insurance needs of all his clients.
As a lifelong resident of Caldwell, Dan desires to give back to his community. He is a past president of the Caldwell Kiwanis Club, board member of the Lifeline Pregnancy Care Center and President of the Treasure Valley Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He and his wife Tammy have four children who are now grown and beginning families and careers of their own. The family enjoys coming back together in various activities including motorcycling, camping, and church activities.

Tammy has been a part of Shaffer-Buck Insurance for over 25 years. Our clients have come to know her as a first class Customer Service Representative. She handles policy change requests, claims and billing questions. She also takes care of all the bookkeeping functions for the firm. Over the years, she has juggled the responsibilities of being a home school mom, homemaker and wife in addition to partnering with Dan in the office.
Tammy enjoys helping people! She is a great project manager in the office, at home and in the community. Her hobbies include gardening, interior decorating, reading, water sports and motorcycling with Dan.
Aaron has worked part time at Shaffer Buck for the past six years while attending the College of Idaho and working at the Ada County Courthouse. Aaron graduated from the C of I in 2007 with a Bachelors in Business/International Political Economy and a Bachelors in General Music. Aaron went on to work in the Clerk's office at the Ada County Courthouse for the past two years. Aaron has recently come on full time at Shaffer Buck as a personal and commercial lines agent. Aaron is the fourth generation to work for Shaffer Buck and is eager to learn the ropes of a new career and to become a strong asset to Shaffer Buck and its clients.
Aaron was recently married in Aug of 2009 to his wife Rachel whom has also joined the team at Shaffer Buck. Aaron spends his free time enjoying the outdoors and training for and competing in local triathlon races.
Rachel is new to the insurance industry after working in the legal field as a legal assistant to various attorneys in the Boise area for the past four years. Rachel is a current student at BSU and is working to obtain a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Rachel is excited to learn a new field and to contribute her excellent customer service skills to the experience of Shaffer Buck’s clientele.
Rachel stays busy being a full time employee and a full time student. In her limited downtime Rachel enjoys housekeeping and spending time with her husband Aaron.
